



KIDS ON SITE CHILD CARE (KOS) is designed to temporarily increase CYSS hourly care capabilities by providing onsite hourly group care when the parent(s) or guardian(s) of all children in care are attending the same on-post function and sufficient spaces are not available within the CYSS hourly care or Family Child Care (FCC) homes. KIDS ON SITE CHILD CARE can only be arranged when parent is immediately adjacent to the area where childcare is being performed. Parents must stay in the childcare area while childcare is being performed. (AR 608-10 chapter 7)
What are the registration requirements when using KIDS ON SITE CHILD CARE?
The same as if you were using full day child care in the CDC’s or FCC.
Who do you call for KIDS ON SITE CHILD CARE care?
Calling KIDS ON SITE CHILD CARE at 785-239-9850 will be able to assist you in your requests for KIDS ON SITE CHILD CARE sessions. All contract requests will be logged in the reservation book and a confirmation letter will be sent. Two weeks prior to your event you will be asked to provide STACC with roster of the number of children by age expected.

How many hours may be scheduled?
KIDS ON SITE CHILD CARE sessions will be scheduled to accommodate the needs of the function. In the contract, the KIDS ON SITE CHILD CARE Statement of Understanding, clearly states that the organization is advised and should understand that they will be charged per childcare provider, with a minimum charge of 2 hrs. (This does NOT mean you have to stay at your function 2 hours. But to be cost effective a 2-hour minimum is required in all CYSS hourly programs.)
Are meals/snacks are provided?
Snacks/meals will be provided for what is appropriate for the time and length of the KIDS ON SITE CHILD CARE session. They will meet USDA/CACFP Childcare Food Program requirements. Meals or snacks may consist of sack lunches prepared in accordance with USDA/CACFP guidelines. Parents will provide infant formula and baby food: refrigeration must be available when meals or formula are provided.
