The SFAC Guidance Counselor will:
Provide education counseling services on a walk-in basis and by appointment to Soldiers and Family Members to include:
- On and off post college programs
- Financial assistance
- GT Improvement
- Personal and career educational goals
- Leadership Skills Enhancement Courses (LSEC)
Conduct mandatory in and out processing.
Schedule academic and military testing (CLEP, ACT, SAT, DLAB, DLPT, AFAST, ASVAB, College Exams, and others).
Provide mandatory Montgomery GI Bill counseling to Soldiers who will transition out of the Army.
Ensure all Soldiers are familiar with the “GoArmyEd” portal procedures when applying for Army Tuition Assistance.
Ensure Soldiers and Family Members have computer access for education programs and services.
Assist Soldiers and Family Members in accessing state, county or local education benefits.
Work with the WTB Soldiers, the WTB Chain-of-Command, ACAP, SFAC Outreach, Centers of Influence (COIs) on the installation and in the surrounding communities coordinating internships and vocational opportunities for Wounded Soldiers.
